The Faculty of Sciences of Hasselt University seeks a (m/f) PhD student Dynamical Systems
The candidate will be active in the research group Dynamical Systems. The conducted research follows the lines of a 4-year BOF research project in collaboration with University of Edinburgh. The project entails the qualitative study of systems of differential equations with a dynamic on multiple time scales, in two or more variables. Besides research-related duties the candidate will also be asked to collaborate in the didactical duties of the discipline group Mathematics and Statistics, such as giving exercise classes, and guiding bachelor theses.
Master of Mathematics (or equivalent)
You communicate fluently in English, both written and orally. Communication skills in Dutch are optional.
You have excellent research skills
You have a background that is by preference in pure mathematics
You can collaborate in an international team
You will be appointed and paid as PhD student.
2 years, prolonged by 2 years after positive evaluation
